To maintain a beautiful and durable toilet, here are our simple tips for easy and hygienic cleaning of your toilet seat and bowl.
Your toilet seat from Pressalit is designed down to the smallest detail and manufactured with great care. To ensure it is worth the investment and that you enjoy your toilet seat for as long as possible, we share our best advice here.
It is important that you use the right cleaning agents to avoid damaging materials and surfaces. Chlorine-based and corrosive cleaning agents can cause surface rust and result in a matte finish on your toilet seat.
You may wish to wear rubber gloves to protect your hands and avoid the spread of bacteria.
Use a mild, soapy detergent for the toilet seat. Ensure that no moisture is left on the seat or hinges, and wipe dry with a soft, dry cloth.
If toilet cleaner or other chlorine-based and corrosive cleaning agents come into contact with the seat or hinges, it can result in damage or surface rust. We therefore recommend that you remove the toilet seat before cleaning the toilet itself.
Some Pressalit toilet seats are equipped with a Lift-off function. This is a practical solution that allows you to easily and conveniently lift the seat vertically off the hinges without using tools. This makes cleaning significantly easier, as the toilet itself can be cleaned more thoroughly without having to worry about the seat. It is also easy to reinstall the toilet seat after cleaning.
If your toilet seat does not have a Lift-off function, you should leave the seat in an upright position before cleaning the porcelain.
Start by ensuring the toilet seat is either removed or lifted before you begin. Apply toilet cleaner under the rim and in the bowl, and let it work. Clean the toilet with your preferred cleaning agent. Just remember to rinse thoroughly so that chemicals do not damage the toilet seat hinges after reinstallation.
Limescale can be removed with a pumice stone. Yellowish stains can be reduced with a mixture of liquid brown soap and white vinegar in a 1:1 ratio. Leave the mixture to work for about an hour, then use a toilet brush. Rinse thoroughly.
Once the toilet is cleaned and dried, you can reinstall the toilet seat. Finally, ensure the seat is correctly fitted and completely dry, so that no moisture is left on either the seat or hinges.
