The centre has a short-break unit which provides breaks for disabled adults, respite for family carers as well as a life skills and assessment unit where adults with learning disabilities are able to learn to live more independently. The 43 regular residents are staying from 1 night to 2 weeks.

All aspects of the centre are designed to encourage people to develop new skills, to realize their full potential and to expect the same opportunities in life that most non-disabled adults take for granted.
